Western Hills

About

Attn. Homeowners…

The Western Hills Garage Sale is scheduled for next weekend, Thursday thru Saturday, June 17, 18, 19. We are partnering with Ward Parkway Estates again this year, so we hope to have a good turn out.

Additionally, this is an early reminder that the July 4th Parade and party at the Western Hills park should be another good time. We will have clowns and face painting and back by popular demand, this year we will once again have a moon walk for the kids! We are looking forward to it.

Here is a link to the flyer/postcard that you will be receiving over the weekend. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Welcome to the New and Improved Western Hills website!

The Western Hills Homes Association’s common goal is that everyone in the neighborhood keep up their houses and property, thus improving the neighborhood, protecting property values, and helping to promote a healthy, safe environment in which to live.

Each homeowner in Western Hills, as a member of the Western Hills Homes Association, is required to pay annual association dues in the amount of $50. This amount pays for various association expenses and beautification projects.

Western Hills contains 351 homes with boundaries of Wornall Road, 89th Street, Ward Parkway and 93rd Street.

A Brief History:

The developer, James H. Stanton Construction Company, created our Homes Association on January 14, 1953. It is recorded in Plat Book 28 at Page 43 in the Office of the Recorder of Deeds of Jackson County, Missouri.

The following is from the January 22, 1953, Declaration of Restrictions:
“Western Hills (is developed) for high-class residence purposes…for the creation and maintenance of a residence neighborhood possessing features of more than ordinary value to a residence community…”

Hi everyone — I will be putting a few yard signs up today around the neighborhood about a bike event on Labor Day called Bike for the Brain. It's an event to raise awareness and do some fund raising for brain disorders and mental illness. All are welcome to participate, you can ride for 10, 25, 50 or 62 miles, or there is also a 5K walk/run. The website is http://www.bikeforthebrain.org if you are interested. The signs will only be up for a few days. Have a safe holiday weekend!
